A priori information in image segmentation: energy functional based on shape statistical model and image information

In this paper, we propose an energy functional to segment objects whose global shape is a priori known thanks to a statistical model. Our work aims at extending the variational approach of Chen et al. [1] by integrating the statistical shape model of Leventon et al. [2]. The proposed energy functional allows us to capture an object that exhibits high image gradients and a shape compatible with ...

A Wavelet-based Interpolation-restoration Method for Superresolution (wavelet Superresolution)*

Superresolution produces high-quality, high-resolution images from a set of degraded, low-resolution images where relative frame-to-frame motions provide different looks at the scene. Superresolution translates data temporal bandwidth into enhanced spatial resolution. If considered together on a reference grid, given low-resolution data are nonuniformly sampled. However, data from each frame ar...

Angular reconstitution-based 3D reconstructions of nanomolecular structures from superresolution light-microscopy images.

Superresolution light microscopy allows the imaging of labeled supramolecular assemblies at a resolution surpassing the classical diffraction limit. A serious limitation of the superresolution approach is sample heterogeneity and the stochastic character of the labeling procedure. To increase the reproducibility and the resolution of the superresolution results, we apply multivariate statistica...

Spatial Weighed Element Based FEM Incorporating a Priori Information on Bioluminescence Tomography

Bioluminescence tomography (BLT) is a promising imaging technique which may dynamically and real-timely detect the molecular and cellular activity at the whole-body level in small animal studies. In view of the ill-posedness of the BLT, it is hard to fully reconstruct source density. In addition, the uniqueness theorem on BLT indicates that it is important to employ a priori information for acc...
